The stars in the night sky were exceptionally bright. Tyche transformed into mist and ascended into the heavens, gazing at the myriad stars twinkling with brilliance. The divine power of fate quietly descended with the starlight, touching Tyche’s ever-growing divine nature of destiny.
The concept of celestial phenomena emerged, subtly revealing the threads of fate. The origin of fate stirred, and a continuous stream of illusions appeared before the three goddesses possessing divine power over destiny. Seizing this opportunity, Tyche actively exerted her divine power to participate in the evolution of fate.
Opening her eyes, Tyche saw Phoebe standing upstream of the River of Fate, stirring the water surface with her divine power. Not far away was Asteria, the Starry Night Goddess, who had already ascended to the mid-tier divine power, her divine offices of celestial phenomena and astrology shining brightly. The goddess’s bright eyes were filled with smiles, and the two nodded to each other.
The two mid-tier divine goddesses of fate worked together, jointly disturbing the River of Fate. The obscure River of Fate was clear yet its bottom was unseen. An inexplicable power resisted the divine power of the two goddesses, and for a moment, both sides were at a stalemate.
Phoebe, the Oracle, reached into the riverbed and took out a spindle that shone with silver light, then retreated. Before leaving, she reached out to help the two goddesses, her powerful divine force actively resisting the drag of the River of Fate, buying them a mere three seconds. Without time to express her thanks, Tyche, with quick hands and keen eyes, grabbed a layer of silver veil from the riverbed. A die leaped out of the water and into Tyche’s hand. Before she could examine it closely, Tyche was sent out of the River of Fate.
Asteria’s divine power filled the night sky, and a beam of starlight descended from above, awakening the still-dazed Tyche. Asteria’s voice came from the starlight, “My friend Tyche, thank you for the gift you sent. I will come to visit you when the sun rises.”
The starlight dispersed, and Tyche looked up at the meteor streaking across the sky. She was happy for a moment about her friend’s visit, then landed by the pond and slowly walked into the divine temple.
The two treasures obtained from the River of Fate displayed various anomalies. The patterns on the six-sided die constantly shifted, echoing the divine office she had chosen. The divine office rapidly matured and was integrated into the burning divine fire.
Unfolding the silver veil, the touch on her fingertips was as soft as water. After putting on the veil, Tyche’s presence immediately vanished, and she could not be reflected in the mirror. With a thought, her reflection, draped in the silver veil, wavered into existence in the mirror.
Tyche solemnly put away the silver veil, knowing this divine artifact would play a significant role in the near future.
Nyx’s power receded from the sky, and starlight quietly descended outside the temple gate. Alce, leading a group of Harpies and Sirens, quickly arrived. The Rainbow Goddess shouted loudly, “Outsider! Stand down!”
Asteria, draped in a black veil, emerged from the starlight. Tyche also approached Alce, smiling and saying, “Don’t worry, it’s the Starry Night Goddess paying a visit. Go tell the Dryads to prepare a lavish banquet; I want to host my distant friend properly.”
Alce bowed and quietly retreated, while the Sirens flapped their wings and returned to the sky to continue their patrol. The two goddesses of fate sat on the ground in the lily field. The Dryads presented delicious food to the goddesses, serving them attentively.
Tyche raised her cup and laughed, “Congratulations, Asteria! I haven’t yet celebrated your successful promotion to mid-tier divine power.”
The Starry Night Goddess lifted the black veil from her head, her shining eyes full of teasing, “I heard from Selene that you’ve met Helios? How was it? Do you want to become his wife?”
Tyche put her hand to her forehead and gave a wry smile, sighing, “The path I’ve taken to this point is not to become someone’s wife, but to become myself.”
Upon hearing this, Asteria’s playful expression vanished, and she said solemnly, “My friend, you should know that your status is no less than that of Helios.”
“The favor of the Water Origin towards you is only surpassed by the three powerful deities of the Sea Realm. Perhaps after you ascend to powerful divine power, you will surpass those three Highnesses and become the Queen of the Sea Realm!”
“The divine office of climate is also within your grasp, and all the gods will support you in usurping Uranus’s divine office of the sky! The power of destiny allows you to protect yourself and avoid the scrutiny and threats of powerful deities. You are destined to become a noble supreme deity!”
Tyche lowered her head in thought for a moment, then asked with confusion, “I know that? What does that have to do with my marriage?”
“Because you are a goddess!” Asteria’s tone was firm yet unwilling, “All the male gods who covet the position of King of the Gods will want to become your husband! You can bring them immense assistance!”
“What’s wrong with you? Did something happen?” Tyche looked at her slightly flustered friend, waved for the Dryads to leave, and said cautiously, “Why are you suddenly saying these things today?”
Asteria remained silent for a long time, then lay down dejectedly and said softly, “I am to marry Perses and become his wife.”
“Do you want to?” Tyche asked only this one question. Perses was the eldest son of Creos, the God of Growth, and Eurynome, the Power of the Sea, and was the deity in charge of destruction and ruin.
“Of course, I don’t want to!” Asteria became agitated, “But if I refuse, it will be my frail sister Leto who marries Perses! She will suffer abuse and pain in the struggles of the male gods, but I am different; I will retaliate fiercely!”
