Chapter 50 The Sun God's Ascension

The divinity born from the water offered no resistance to Tyche's power, obediently coming into the goddess's hands. The consciousness within the divinity had been erased, and as residual memories flashed before her eyes, Tyche was surprised to discover that this fallen goddess hailed from Celtic mythology!

The goddess had once possessed a glorious title; Lady of the Lake and Fairy of the Lake were the respectful appellations given to her by her followers. She held the dual divinity of fate and water.

As the mythological age faded, unable to gain faith, the goddess had no choice but to leave her world of origin and wander in the Sea of Chaos, seeking a new dwelling place. However, her luck was not as good as Tyche's; she exhausted all her strength during her journey and died in weakness.

Tyche trembled as she flipped through the goddess's memories. The fragmented memories contained only the most profound images of the goddess: a tranquil lake in the forest, joyous bonfire dances, the embrace of a lover, and the troublesome divine beasts in the chaos, like rabid dogs!

Although Tyche had long known that her homeland must exist within the Sea of Chaos, she still shed tears for the memories from a familiar world. Cherishing the divinity, she brought it close to her heart, drawing immense comfort and courage from it. The flame of hope burned brightly, reflecting the enduring faint light in Tyche's eyes.

Silently returning to the Formless Isle, Tyche's movements did not alert the handmaidens. Hidden by the mist, she returned to the edge of the pond. Placing the divinity in her hand at the bottom of the pond, Tyche used her divine power to repair its imperfections.

Radiance always shone upon the Formless Isle, and the fairies were accustomed to judging the arrival of night by the return of Cannas. The Wind God flew back to the island in the afterglow of the sunset. His satisfied smile indicated that Pallas had certainly received enough of a lesson. After pacifying the wronged Pegasus, Cannas, guided by Philyra, came to his mother's side.

Cannas, with his keen perception, noticed Tyche's unusual mood. The Wind God anxiously called out to his preoccupied mother. Tyche, lost in thought while gazing at the water's surface, was startled by her son's call. Seeing Cannas's worried eyes, Tyche smiled and said, "Cannas, come quickly and see the surprise I just received."

The Wind God was also drawn to the sword sheath in his mother's hand, staring intently at this extraordinary treasure. He asked in surprise, "Mother, where did you get it?"

Tyche concealed the existence of the Lady of the Lake and told her son how she obtained the sword sheath. Cannas marveled at its beauty and lamented its damage.

After admiring the sword sheath, Cannas conveyed greetings from Theia, "Your Highness Theia asked me to inform you that she is ready and requests you to go to the eastern mountains for discussions."

The Sun God's ascension was not far off, and Tyche gladly accepted the invitation, receiving a warm welcome from the radiant goddess.

In good spirits, Tyche thanked Eos with a smile. The Dawn Goddess hitched the white falcon chariot for her, and Theia personally welcomed the Sky Goddess.

The golden-eyed Sun God had just emerged from the spring, his damp golden hair not yet dry, strands tangled together. A wave of heat dispelled the moisture from his body. Helios, driving his chariot, ascended into the sky, and Cannas immediately followed the Sun God, riding his Pegasus.

Eos took her sister's reins and settled the Pegasi. She then went to her mother's side with concern. All four goddesses were closely watching the Sun God's ascension.

The Wind God came to the chariot to guide the Sun God. The Directional divinity left invisible markers to guide the Pegasi pulling the chariot, following Cannas's movement. The stars in the night sky did not vanish with the daylight; they all shone brightly. Under the guidance of her father Coeus, the Starry Night Goddess granted access to the stars for the two deities.

The power of direction connected various stars, forming a brilliant road. Helios's expression was solemn as he let go of the reins, allowing the Pegasi to pull the sun chariot autonomously.

Accustomed to Cannas's power, the Pegasi instinctively followed the Wind God. The sun's trajectory gradually overlapped with the star road, and a radiant track appeared in the sky.

The imprints of time ran through the entire track, starting from the eastern mountains and ending at the western ocean. Under Cannas's guidance, the sun chariot successfully completed the entire journey!

The goddesses' joyful smiles still lingered on their faces, but the surging laws did not favor Helios!

The joy on Theia's face instantly froze. The Dawn Goddess and the Moon Goddess also lost their smiles, anxiously gazing at their brother's figure.

Tyche opened her radiant eyes and spoke solemnly into Cannas's ear, "Cannas, do not be afraid. Run faster!"

The panicked Wind God followed his mother's instructions, continuing to lead the Pegasi. The straight track became curved with Cannas's movement, and the sun chariot's trajectory gradually formed an arc.

Tyche comforted him by his son's ear, "That's right, Cannas, run along the edge of the earth."

Under the gaze of the gods, the sun changed its trajectory and moved around the earth. The journey, several times longer than before, forced Cannas to slow down, posing a significant challenge for both the Wind God and the Sun God.

The Pegasi impatiently pawed the ground, wanting to accelerate. Helios had to expend energy controlling them, preventing them from colliding with Cannas ahead.

The perilous situation of the Sun God and the Wind God greatly alarmed Selene, who couldn't help but want to lend a hand, but she retreated under Theia's stern gaze.

The radiant goddess quietly stopped her daughters, telling them not to distract Tyche.

Tyche had no time to pay attention to them, focusing intently on guiding her son. Cannas's hands, gripping the reins, began to tremble, and a few drops of sweat trickled down his face. This was still too strenuous for the young Wind God. Unlike veteran mid-tier deities like the Sun God and Moon Goddess, the Wind God had not been promoted to mid-tier divinity for long, and his divine power reserves were far inferior to the Sun God's.

The Pegasi bucked restlessly, trying to break free from the Sun God's restraint. Helios, using his not-yet-familiar power of time to connect the stars, simultaneously berated the restless Pegasi, unable to offer assistance to Cannas.

As the goddesses waited in agony, the sun chariot's journey around the earth was more than halfway complete. Tyche continuously spoke words of encouragement to her son. Under his mother's earnest care, Cannas gritted his teeth and persisted. The cool mist relieved the Wind God's fatigue, and Cannas rallied his spirits for the final leg of the journey.

The laws finally turned their attention to the Sun God. The goddesses clasped their hands tightly, praying for the Sun God's successful ascension.

The brilliant star track changed from a straight line to a circle, the beginning and end of the track perfectly coinciding. Under the impetus of the laws, the power of time began to cycle, and the sun detached itself from the chariot, operating autonomously in the sky!

The Dawn Goddess cheered, celebrating her brother. Theia and Selene were also overjoyed. Tyche withdrew her power, closing her eyes in exhaustion.
