Chapter 3 Becoming a Deity

Tike nodded resolutely, and Tethys smiled with relief, taking out a seashell and handing it to Tike. "Take this, my strong child. Your father god and I have bestowed our blessings upon you. No matter when, the ocean will answer your call."

Saying this, she gently pushed Tike out of the divine temple. Her sisters, transformed into mermaids, bid Tike farewell with reluctance, gifting her various treasures from the ocean. Tike also promised to visit her mother god and sisters again.

Returning to the small island, Tike used the gifts she received to decorate her dwelling. A giant pearl that emitted a soft white light and magnificently colored corals adorned the small pond, making it exceptionally beautiful. After settling down, Tike began to contemplate what divine position she should acquire. Although the magic goddess had given her the powerful origin of the Weave, Tike did not believe Mystra had left no contingency within the Weave. It could be used as a trump card for now, but absorbing the origin of the Weave was not the act of a wise person.

Playing with the necklace formed from the Weave, Tike went to the beach and gazed out at the sea. The scorching sun shone on the ocean's surface, and the sand felt hot. A sudden flash of inspiration struck Tike, and she abruptly stood up and walked to the boundary between the sea and the sand. Igniting the divinity inherited from her parents, she declared loudly, "I am Tike, daughter of Oceanus, the god of the great sea, and Tethys, the goddess of the vast ocean. I declare: I shall bring forth clouds to shield the earth from the scorching sun, and I shall reverse the ocean currents to bring warmth to the cold seabed. I am the goddess of clouds and currents, the master of temperature!"

Her divinity burned into divine fire, and the supreme world laws judged these divine positions beneficial for the world's evolution, generously bestowing their favor. Tike grit her teeth and persevered within the divine fire, striving to maintain clarity amidst the burning pain. Suddenly, a cool mist appeared, dispelling the intense heat.

Two shining divine sparks descended from the sky and landed in Tike's hands. By instinct, Tike's soul merged with the divine sparks. These were the divine sparks of clouds and temperature. Tike's excitement was evident. Clouds combined with temperature could develop into climate. The divine spark of currents was not yet complete, and would only form upon action. She had skipped the level of minor divinity and directly become a lesser deity.

Familiarizing herself with the divine sparks she had just acquired, Tike immediately leaped into the sea and emitted the divine power of temperature, stirring the surface water to flow towards the seabed, and then bringing the cold water from the seabed to the surface, forming a circulation. The warm seawater gave rise to a large number of marine plants, and schools of fish, chasing food, arrived. The divine spark of currents was replenished and absorbed by Tike. Tike did not use the divine spark of currents to break through her divine power level but to strengthen her current divine power level. The blue divine spark of currents, the white divine spark of clouds, and the red-blue divine spark of temperature stood in a three-way balance, forming a stable equilibrium. Tike had finally taken the first step on her glorious path, possessing the strength to protect herself.

In the following days, Tike flew into the sky every day. In the morning, she condensed water vapor into mist and spread it across the land, then judged whether there would be clouds based on the temperature. At noon, she returned to the sea surface to stir the water and form currents, only returning to the island when the sun set. Although her days were busy, they were not boring. The process of fulfilling her divine duties deepened Tike's understanding of her divine positions, and these tasks became increasingly effortless. While spreading clouds, Tike finally had the opportunity to observe the goings-on on the ground.

One morning, Tike transformed into mist and wandered across the land. She discovered a man in a valley mixing mud with water. Driven by curiosity, Tike quietly approached, hiding in the clouds and looking down. After mixing the mud, the man began to give it shape, creating flying birds, fierce lions, docile cattle and sheep, and finally, the likeness of the gods themselves.

Tike vaguely guessed who this man was. Her agitated heart caused the clouds to disperse, and she lightly landed beside the man. "Greetings, wise deity. May I know your name?"

The man turned to look at Tike, his olive-green eyes sparkling. "Greetings, diligent goddess of clouds. I am Prometheus, son of Iapetus and Clymene."

Tike found herself troubled by the confusing relationships for the umpteenth time. The god of souls, Iapetus, was the younger brother of the god of the great sea, and the goddess of fame, Clymene, was one of the daughters of the god of the great sea. She had never met her sister. "So, he is both my cousin and my nephew?" Tike quickly withdrew her wandering thoughts, nodded, and said, "Hello, seer. Please convey my regards to my sister." She then couldn't help but add, "What are you doing?"

Prometheus replied calmly, "King of the Gods Cronus defeated Uranus, the god of the sky, and a grand banquet needs to be held. However, Mount Othrys, having just ended the war, lacks sufficient nymph attendants. The King of the Gods has ordered me to create some life forms to serve as attendants for the gods."

Golden humans! Tike exclaimed in awe. She then watched with great interest as Prometheus quickly molded a batch of clay figures and poured souls into their clay bodies. The clay figures began to move. They were beautiful and intelligent, nimble and strong. Witnessing the birth of the golden humans, Tike contentedly bid farewell to Prometheus.

Before leaving, Prometheus invited all the sea gods to the banquet to be held soon. Tike thought that she had only met two gods so far and that perhaps she could make friends at the banquet, so she readily agreed.

Returning to the sea surface, Tike stirred the seawater with her divine power and rode the downward current to Tethys's divine temple.
