Chen Jiuyang arrived in a Rolls-Royce, dressed in fine clothes, exuding an extraordinary aura.
As soon as he stepped out of the car, a reporter approached him. "Sir, are you here to see Yun Jingbai?"
Chen Jiuyang paused, then replied, "No, I'm here for a meeting."
"Oh," the reporter said, disappointed, and left.
Chen Jiuyang looked at the surging crowd before him, feeling a sense of awe. This was the fame of a superstar; wherever they went, they were sought after, especially upon their comeback.
Upon entering the Hilton Hotel, Chen Jiuyang spotted a beautiful woman in an OL outfit waiting for him at the foot of the stairs.
This woman in the OL outfit was the agent who had appeared in the live stream, chatting with Kong Xirong.
Clearly, she was Yun Jingbai's agent.
Seeing Chen Jiuyang arrive, the agent spoke, "Mr. Chen Jiuyang, Miss Yun has been waiting for you. Please follow me."
The agent led Chen Jiuyang to the elevator and up to the presidential suite on the highest floor of the Hilton Hotel.
Inside the suite, the room was filled with empty wine bottles.
Yun Jingbai sat on the sofa, lost in thought, her eyes betraying her anxiety.
Chen Jiuyang walked up and said with a smile, "What has our great star so troubled that she can neither eat nor sleep?"
"You're here," Yun Jingbai said, snapping back to attention upon hearing Chen Jiuyang's voice.
Chen Jiuyang asked, "How was the concert? I saw many paparazzi and reporters downstairs, it seemed quite successful?"
Yun Jingbai picked up her wine glass, took a sip, and then said, "The concert hasn't started yet."
Chen Jiuyang was taken aback. "What's going on? Wasn't the concert already scheduled, and the tickets sold?"
Yun Jingbai's face darkened slightly. "I was sabotaged."
"We had advertised, and the tickets were sold, but the Cultural Bureau refused to stamp the approval for my concert."
"Without the Cultural Bureau's stamp, I can't hold the concert."
Chen Jiuyang frowned. "How could this happen? Didn't your grandfather put in a good word to sort this out? How could it be blocked at the Cultural Bureau at the last moment?"
All commercial performances required the Cultural Bureau's stamp to be held; otherwise, any gathering of over fifty people would be considered illegal. If Yun Jingbai, with her immense fame, were to proceed without approval, she would surely be arrested.
If she canceled the concert, the ticket holders would be waiting, leaving Yun Jingbai in an impossible situation.
Yun Jingbai gave a wry smile. "My grandfather has offended quite a few people. He only received a verbal agreement regarding my concert. Now that we've prepared everything, the Cultural Bureau has blocked it, refusing to stamp the approval."
Chen Jiuyang's eyes turned cold. "But they haven't completely refused you. What conditions did they set for you to hold the concert?"
Yun Jingbai gritted her teeth. "They asked me to accompany a Japanese businessman for drinks, and then they would approve the concert, allowing it to proceed smoothly."
Chen Jiuyang's expression changed. "These beasts, how dare they do such a thing."
"Have they forgotten the issues between our Dragon Country and the Land of the Rising Sun? They expect you, a Dragon Country cultural promotion ambassador, to accompany a Japanese businessman for drinks? Do they have any conscience?"
"This is too insidious and malicious!"
"As a Dragon Country cultural promotion ambassador, if you were photographed drinking with a Japanese businessman, you would be finished."
Yun Jingbai nodded bitterly. "I know. I'm trapped in this quagmire now, unable to extricate myself."
"The concert tickets have been sold, and the Industry and Commerce Bureau has already collected the taxes, making it impossible for me to refund the tickets or cancel the concert."
Chen Jiuyang's gaze sharpened. "This is a premeditated attack against you, designed to prevent your comeback. Even if you do make a comeback, they want to ruin your reputation."
Yun Jingbai said, "I know. I've run out of options in Suhang, and I can only turn to you, Young Master Chen."
"I've been using illness as an excuse to delay the concert and avoid those people. But it's been half a month, and they'll be coming to my door soon, revealing their true intentions."
"I really don't know what to do."
Yun Jingbai's past connections in Suhang were now useless.
After hearing this, Chen Jiuyang pondered. "Jingbai, don't worry. You are Zixuan's best friend, and I won't stand by and do nothing."
"Furthermore, this matter involves higher-level conflicts, and I won't let them succeed."
"Knock, knock, knock!"
A loud knocking echoed through the room.
Yun Jingbai and her agent's expressions changed. "They're here!"
Chen Jiuyang patted Yun Jingbai's hand. "Don't worry, I'm here. I will help you resolve this."
Yun Jingbai nodded and said to her agent, "Open the door and let them in."
The agent went to open the door.
"Tap, tap, tap!"
The crisp sound of high heels echoed as seven or eight men entered. Among them, a middle-aged man with a small mustache, clearly Japanese, looked at Yun Jingbai with a glint of lust in his eyes.
A middle-aged man in a suit, with his hair slicked back and an air of authority, sat down opposite Yun Jingbai. He glanced at Chen Jiuyang and then addressed Yun Jingbai, "Ms. Yun, you've delayed for so long. It's time you gave us an answer."
"The Cultural Bureau, the Industry and Commerce Bureau, the Six Doors, and Mr. Yamamoto Ichihito from the Suhang business community are all here. We are waiting for your response."
"Do you want to accompany Mr. Yamamoto Ichihito for drinks and smoothly hold your concert?"
"Or will you be arrested by the constables of the Six Doors for industrial fraud and be ruined?"
The middle-aged man got straight to the point, his eyes fixed on Yun Jingbai.
Yun Jingbai's expression turned grim.
She looked pleadingly at Chen Jiuyang.
Chen Jiuyang spoke calmly, "I'll give you two choices. One, you admit your mistakes, get out of here, and let Yun Jingbai's concert proceed smoothly."
"This matter can be considered as if it never happened."
"Or, I will kill this Japanese dog, expose this matter, ruin your reputations, and ensure you all suffer a terrible fate."
"Now, tell me, which do you choose?"
"By the way, I'll give you only one minute to consider."
Chen Jiuyang's audacious words instantly enraged the seven or eight men present.
The man on the sofa glanced at Chen Jiuyang, then at Yun Jingbai, and sneered, "Is this the helper you've been delaying to find?"
"Yes," Yun Jingbai admitted calmly.
The middle-aged man with the beer belly looked at Chen Jiuyang, tilted his chin up, and condescended, "Kid, who do you think you are to stand up for Yun Jingbai? Come on, tell me your name, and I'll listen."
