Chapter 121: THEIR FIGHT

Chapter 121: THEIR FIGHT

The morning sun spilled across the ornate dining hall in the Adam’s Chamber.

Rhynera, Adam, and Serena sat at the long table. Rhynera watched how Serena and Adam acted lovingly but just ignored her and ate her food.

She then reached for a dish, her hand hovering, but before she could take it, Serena quickly picked it, taking it away from her reach.

Mia, Rhynera’s maid, stepped forward hesitantly. "Lady Serena... my lady was about to have that. Can you please pass it back?"

Serena’s lips curled into a short smile.

"Adam." she called, "Isn’t it disrespectful that you allow her to act like this?"

Rhynera inhaled deeply, steadying herself. "Serena," she spoke up slowly, her voice icy yet calm.

"I understand that you are close to my husband. I have tolerated your presence far longer than necessary. Don’t you think your stay has long since overstayed its welcome?"

Serena gasped, glancing back at Adam, perhaps expecting him to intervene.

"You just heard her speak to me wrongly," Serena snapped. "The same lady who.."

Adam’s hand slammed against the table, sending a metallic ring echoing through the hall.

"I am shocked that you would speak to my lady like this! You dare? If not for the collaboration she is supposed to be the Crown Princess!"

Rhynera’s eyes flared. "Adam! How dare you...Do you think I will accept you allowing her to disrespect me? I am your wife! I have every right to tell her what she should and should not do in my chambers!"

Before she could finish, Adam’s hand lashed out, striking her across the shoulder.

Rhynera stumbled backward, her body twisting in the air. The gasp that left the servant and Mia died in their throats.

"My lady.." Mia called but the door was busted open. Ashen eyes widened and moved with speed.

Before she could hit the floor, Ashen caught her in his arms, holding her steady. Her gown fluttered around them like a firelight.

Rhynera stared at Ashen with a pleasing look.

"Wow," Adam sneered, "did you just wrap your hands around my Crown Princess?"

Ashen straightened, keeping Rhynera upright and shifted back.

"That was a mistake from my hand," he said evenly, even though in rage watching his actions."I could not allow her to fall. She is the Crown Princess, after all."

Rhynera’s eyes widened in astonishment. For the first time in this realm, someone had protected her without hesitation, without a glance at her status.

Yet, Ashen’s gaze remained cold and focused, leaving her amazed and slightly bewildered.

"Ashen!" Adam bellowed, stepping forward.

Ashen advanced slowly, each footfall measured. "Do you not think you should understand why I am in your chambers today?"

"I don’t give a damn reason!" Adam snapped, raising his fists.

"Of course you need to know why I am here," Ashen countered, fire flickering along his fingertips. His calm voice carried some sort of rage that made Adam pause for a second.

"I see you but women without thinking twice." Before Adam could respond, Serena’s eyes widened, her breath catching.

"A... Ad... Adam... I can’t breathe." She whispered as she collapsed slightly, clutching at her throat.

Adam glanced at Serena and then back at Ashen to notice he was using his telekinesis power.

"What are you doing to her?" Adam demanded, horror flashing across his face.

Ashen shrugged lightly, almost casually, as Serena finally fell fully to the ground, still struggling to catch her breath.

Adam rushed to her side, panic in his eyes. "What is wrong with you? Look at me!"

Rhynera, witnessing this, felt a pang of disbelief. Not once had her husband ever reacted with desperate concern when someone else’s safety was in jeopardy.

"Ashen... what did you do to her?" Adam yelled, advancing, fire already dancing along his palms.

Ashen’s hand shot out, and suddenly, fire exploded, twisting like a snake between them. Adam froze, and it was too late.

The flames hit his chest, burning, making him stumble back, coughing hard. Serena, now able to breathe, looked at Ashen. "Why... Why attack me?" she asked, shaky.

Ashen turned to Adam, his eyes shining. "Maybe you should ask your lover," he said coldly. Adam, still shocked, found his voice. "You little devil... You have powers!"

"I was called weak, cursed among you all," Ashen said, "but that doesn’t mean I lack power."

"What?" Adam stammered, confused and angry.

"I chose not to use it, out of respect," Ashen continued, stepping closer, fire in his hands, "but you are crossing the line."

Ashen bent forward, fire coiling, his telekinesis flowing through the hall. His hand shot out towards Adam’s throat, an invisible force pressing on it.

"How dare you touch my wife!" Ashen demanded, his voice shaking.

"I... I don’t understand you!" Adam snapped, hitting Ashen’s hand. Sparks flew where his fire met Ashen’s, but Ashen’s was stronger, sending Adam back again.

Men rushed forward, but Adam waved them off, trying to break free.

"You... You bastard!" Adam yelled, and this seemed to enrage Ashen. Ashen used his mind-power, throwing chairs, plates, and utensils like missiles at Adam. Serena rushed toward Adam, but Ashen’s force was too strong.

"Stay back!" Adam yelled, covering her. Flames danced along Ashen’s palm, "Stay away from our fight, Lady Serena!" Fire flew out of his hands, and Adam shot back his own. Adam twisted in pain, using both fire and attack at once, filling the hall with darkness.

The floor shook under Ashen’s mind-power, knocking Adam off balance. Flames touched the rugs, shadows trying to trap Ashen, who moved with unnatural speed.

"You will pay for touching my wife!" Ashen’s voice boomed. Every word was fire and mind-power, shaking the hall. "For every mark, every insult, every touch! You will pay!"

Adam lunged, shadows attacking, fire around his fists. Ashen met him in midair, their bodies crashing, fire and shadow twisting, sending a shockwave that rattled the windows and furniture.

Rhynera watched in awe and fear as the two sons of dragons tore the air apart with their powers. Serena, still recovering, held onto the table, the heat from the flames all around her.

"Enough!" Queen Sephora’s voice boomed through the hall, as lightning struck all over the chamber.

Ashen froze, his fire sputtering in his hands. "Mother..."

"Stop this madness, Ashen!" she snapped. "You will not allow your fury to destroy this family!"

Ashen’s eyes burned silver. "He touched her! He.."

"Silence!" Queen Sephora cut in. She thrust her hand forward, and a wave of lightning slammed into Ashen’s chest. He flew backward across the hall, crashing into the wall with a heavy thud, fire flickering from his hands.

"Mother..." Ashen gasped, struggling to rise, his telekinesis trembling as he tried to push against her force.

"Shut your mouth!" Queen Sephora’s voice boomed again as another lightning struck Ashen.
