Chapter 43 Finally Found You

"Are you referring to that unknown creature in the mist?" Chu Huainan asked for confirmation, a hint of confusion in his voice.

Lu Fei nodded emphatically.

He then watched as Chu Huainan first nodded thoughtfully, but his expression quickly shifted to one of astonishment as he discovered a new problem.

"That's not right. Even unknown creatures from the star field communicate with humans. How can you understand them?"

Lu Fei faltered slightly. His hastily concocted lie was full of holes.

He couldn't possibly say he had a friendly consultation with the creature through Brother Ji, the chief diplomat, and ended up happily sharing roasted meat... that would likely turn him from a brother to "you're my brother, so I'll cut you!" in an instant.

For every lie told, thousands more were needed to cover it up.

There was no choice but for Lu Fei to come up with a new reason. Being quick-witted, he soon thought of one.

With a serious and earnest expression, he began his performance.

"Big Brother! This is precisely what your little brother wanted to tell you!" Lu Fei said in a deep voice.

Chu Huainan's expression grew even more solemn as he pricked up his ears, awaiting Lu Fei's answer.

Lu Fei leaned closer to Chu Huainan's ear and said mysteriously, "It is fluent in human languages!"

The moment he finished speaking.

Chu Huainan immediately took several steps back, his eyes wide with disbelief. He pulled Lu Fei aside and asked solemnly,

"Are you sure?"

Lu Fei wore an innocent expression, "What's wrong? Is that strange?"

He acted like an ignorant youth with a strong desire for knowledge. In fact, that was precisely the persona he was adopting. Wasn't a fourteen-year-old boy supposed to know nothing?

After a long moment, Chu Huainan slowly recovered from his shock.

"Lu Di, if what you just said is true, then this would undoubtedly be a new discovery for the entire Beast Taming Continent. It could directly influence the conclusions scientists have reached regarding the research on contracted beasts!" As he spoke, his eyes gradually became distant, and some memories surfaced in his mind.

"In that case, some conjectures might actually hold true..." A figure appeared in Chu Huainan's mind.

Lu Fei subtly let out a sigh of relief. The good Big Brother had believed his fabricated tale.

He then promptly changed the subject, "Big Brother, how much do you know about the Moon Country?"

Chu Huainan sighed. With his experience and status, a trace of unease began to appear in his eyes.

"They belong to an unknown nation," Chu Huainan said calmly. However, the next sentence struck Lu Fei like a thunderclap: "They might be what people call gods!"

Gods? Gods were involved? Lu Fei was astonished!

He twitched his lips, his expression a mixture of disbelief and surprise, and asked in a low voice, "Gods?"

Chu Huainan nodded silently, but then shook his head.

"I know very little about them, only heard some secret histories."

"What secret histories?" Lu Fei asked curiously.

Chu Huainan looked up at the sky, his gaze profound.

"About a year ago, a mysterious person dressed strangely, whose appearance couldn't be discerned, suddenly appeared at the World Government's high-level meeting."

Under Chu Huainan's gentle tone, Lu Fei slowly became immersed in the story. He had to admit, Chu Huainan had a knack for storytelling; he could always draw people in.

However, his voice abruptly cut off mid-sentence.

Lu Fei blinked, looking at Chu Huainan, and saw a hint of hesitation on his face.

Chu Huainan took a breath and stroked his smooth braided hair.

"What's wrong, Big Brother?"

Chu Huainan hesitated, "This matter involves World Government high-level secrets. We all signed agreements not to speak of it."

Lu Fei's expression changed. He suddenly felt a sense of frustration, like trying to hold back something unpleasant.

But at the same time, he felt a touch of helplessness. Such high-level matters were beyond his reach. Since the other party had signed an agreement, he couldn't press further.

Just as he was about to speak.

A burst of laughter echoed.

Lu Fei was startled.

It turned out Chu Huainan was inexplicably laughing.

Can't you stop being so mysterious? Lu Fei glanced at Chu Huainan with a hint of annoyance.

Immediately after, he heard Chu Huainan say, "Most of what I told you yesterday was also under a confidentiality agreement. Since I've already said so much, a little more won't hurt."

Lu Fei was dumbfounded.

If I ever tell you any secrets in the future, that would be the height of foolishness! Lu Fei silently vowed.

And so, Chu Huainan continued with the topic of the mysterious person.

"Everyone in that conference room was among the most elite on the Beast Taming Continent. How could they allow someone to forcibly enter the meeting room? But what puzzled me the most was that the conference room was equipped with the highest level of defense systems. It would be incredibly difficult for ordinary people to break in, let alone enter without causing any damage."

"Several hot-tempered Elder Tens immediately lost their tempers and wanted to apprehend this mysterious person. But the outcome was unexpected. Despite their strength, the Elder Tens couldn't even touch the opponent's clothes after fighting for a long time!"

"Everyone present was somewhat surprised, but the mysterious person had no intention of fighting us. His actions seemed more like a display of power."

Lu Fei was unfazed. Given the formidable strength of the unknown creatures from the star field, the Moon Country, as their adversary, couldn't be that much weaker.

"What was his purpose?" Lu Fei asked.

Chu Huainan slowly replied, "He had no purpose."

"No purpose?" Lu Fei queried.

"If we have to speak of a purpose, it was likely to let us know of their existence," Chu Huainan said after a moment of contemplation, recalling the events. "Later, during subsequent negotiations, he said he came from the Moon Country and was of divine lineage!"

At this point, Chu Huainan added a side note, "That voice was truly unpleasant, like fingernails on a chalkboard."

Lu Fei's eyebrows rose slightly, "You believe such nonsense?"

He had a fleeting impression that the high-ranking officials of the World Government were as easily fooled as Chu Huainan.

"Of course, we didn't believe it," Chu Huainan sighed. "But the power he displayed afterward left us awe-struck, making us wonder if divine kingdoms truly exist in this world."

"What did he do?" Lu Fei couldn't help but ask.

"He took the moon!"

The words, spoken lightly, struck Lu Fei like a thunderclap.

Sensing that Lu Fei might not fully understand, Chu Huainan elaborated, "He reached out his hand towards the moon outside the window and emitted a strange beam of light. Then, the moon disappeared."

"Finally, the mysterious person vanished after leaving only one sentence."

"What sentence?" Lu Fei's voice was laced with deep confusion.

"I've finally found you!"
