Chapter 655: New Visitors
"Grandfather?" Fu Wan was stunned when she heard the voice of Old Master Bai. She clenched the book in her hands and cursed Xiao Chenye in her heart. That damned man! Why does he keep running to Old Master Bai for the smallest thing? She got to her feet and slowly made her way to the door before saying to Old Master Bai, "Grandfather, look at Bai Meiyue. She is acting like a tyrant. Just look at her; how can she kick me out because I said something behind her back?" How many people talked behind a person’s back? It was not a crime, so why was she being treated in such a manner?
Old Master Bai was simply speechless when he heard the words of the woman. He closed his eyes and then opened them again before saying to Fu Wan, "Stop causing trouble. Are you a shrew on the streets? How can you compare yourself with those people? If you want to act like those gossipy women, then you can walk out of my family. Just sign the agreement that you will never reach out and cause trouble for my great-grandson, and we can clear this mess up."
"Grandfather!" Fu Wan never believed that Old Master Bai would actually stand up for Bai Meiyue. Her eyes widened, and her voice couldn’t help but turn shrill.
Old Master Bai closed his eyes because of the shrill voice, but he didn’t show any sympathy to Fu Wan. "Are you apologising or not?"
Fu Wan didn’t want to apologise, but with the old bastard standing up for that bitch, she could not do anything. Lowering her head, she opened the door and stepped out.
"Let’s go," she said to Bai Jixuan through gritted teeth; she wanted to get this done and over with.
"Go where?’ Bai Jixuan asked, with one of his brows raised.
Fu Wan frowned. She said to Bai Jixuan, "Did you not make a fuss just now that I need to apologise to Bai Meiyue? Let’s go; I will apologise to her."
"My sister doesn’t have the time to listen to your apology," said Bai Jixuan. He took out a recorder and said to Fu Wan, "Just say your apology, and I will record it for her."
Though the man in front of him didn’t slap her, the sound of the slap still echoed in the corridor. Fu Wan was so angry that she was trembling. She glared at the man with eyes full of hatred, but she still recorded the apology message. She couldn’t leave the Bai family in these troubled times. That child of hers was her only life-saving talisman, and if she signed her rights away, who knows whether the Bai family would even remember her pain and suffering once the rights were signed away? If that were the case, she could naturally not sign the rights off.
Angry as she was, she could only listen to Old Master Bai, who also apologised to Bai Jixuan and told him that he was going to come and talk with Bai Meiyue later on.
Bai Jixuan didn’t stop him and took his leave. Nonetheless, he was still going to send a warning message to Fox for causing trouble in their safe base.
On the other side, Bai Meiyue was looking at the dashing and beautiful women who were living in the apartment building that was under her safe base. She came out to take a look at the supermarket where she was going to open the vegetables and meat shop when she saw that the apartment building that was always shut had been opened.
What was more, it had been decorated quite flashily. There were many posters and neon lights decorating the entire space. The women who were dressed scantily walked up and down the stairs, making men stop and stare at them. Once or twice, the women would even wink and whistle at the men, who would rub their hands excitedly, but upon seeing the large bodyguard and the prices written on the large board for different kinds of services, they would back away and walk down the lane with a disappointed expression on their faces.
"What is going on?" Bai Meiyue looked at the district that had been turned into what one would call a red light district and turned to look at Xiao Wu.
"These women came here last night," he honestly replied to Bai Meiyue without hiding anything. "I did as you asked me to do whenever someone new came to our safe base. I showed them the places that were open for rent and told them that they would have to pay a year’s rent before they could come inside. These women easily took out that kind of money and leased this place. I didn’t know what kind of business these women did, as I never asked them. I only cared about the crystal nuclei that they paid for this building in one go. I only told them that they will have to pay for all kinds of services in crystal nuclei. Who would have thought that these women were from that kind of place and would open a red-light district? I swear I didn’t mean anything."
Xiao Wu was worried that Bai Meiyue would misunderstand him. He truly had no intention of getting involved with these women, even if he used to in the past. He was too busy with the tasks at hand to visit these women. He paused and added, "I didn’t want to let these women stay here after finding out, but we have already signed the contract. But don’t worry; I will kick them out once the contract is over or if they make a mistake."
Xiao Wu really underestimated these women. Though he was suspicious about how these women could collect so many crystal nuclei on their own, he thought that maybe one of these women was as strong as Bai Meiyue, who would have thought that they were earning money through skin business?
